Danabot under the microscope

ESET Research has been closely monitoring the activities of Danabot since 2018, and their efforts have led to a significant disruption of the malware’s infrastructure.

Following the recent global disruption operation of Danabot by US authorities, Europol, and Eurojust, ESET researchers have conducted a detailed analysis of this widespread malware-as-a-service (MaaS) operation. According to US authorities, Danabot compromised over 300,000 computers worldwide and caused over US$50 million in damages. ESET Research’s continuous tracking of Danabot’s activities since 2018 has played a crucial role in disrupting the malware’s infrastructure.
