Discovering Bootkitty: A New Threat in the UEFI Landscape

ESET researchers have recently unveiled a groundbreaking discovery – the first UEFI bootkit tailored for Linux systems. This new threat, known as Bootkitty, marks a significant shift in the UEFI threat landscape. Although Bootkitty is currently deemed a proof of concept with no reported attacks, its existence highlights that UEFI bootkits are no longer confined to Windows systems.
